Troubleshooting Sync

If you are experiencing issues syncing workouts, please check for one of the following solutions:

A completed workout synced to Sumyt but it shows separately to the workout I created.

To match a completed workout from HealthKit to a Sumyt workout, both must share the same workout plan ID. When a Sumyt workout is synced to Watch it is given this ID, so generally there should be no issue, however sometimes the workout is completed on Watch and for some reason this ID is missing. This makes it impossible to merge the workouts automatically. You can however long press the completed workout, which will give you the option to merge it with the Sumyt workout manually.

I completed a scheduled workout but it has not been synced from HealthKit.

Again, I am not sure why this problem exists, but Sumyt has two built-in features to help resolve the issue. You can either long press a scheduled workout and retry syncing from HealthKit. If a matching workout is found, they will be automatically paired. If this does not work, in the menu at the top of the workouts page is also an option to retry HealthKit sync. This will fetch any missing workouts for the day, these must then be manually merged with your completed workout as described above. You may need to deselect any training plan to show all workouts.

Scheduled workouts no longer appear on my Watch.

There is currently a bug in Apple's WorkoutKit framework which seems to affect iOS version 18.2 and above, where at some point workouts simply stop syncing to Watch. The bug affects every workout app (so even if you used a similar app to Sumyt, the issue would still persist) and is also at this point unresolvable. Workouts appear to sync correctly, however they simply do not appear on the Watch. In the mean time, if you do experience this issue, you will need to long press on the workout in Sumyt and send it to your Watch manually. It will no longer appear under Sumyt, instead it will be sent as a permanent workout option for you to perform. Any workouts you do complete will be synced via HealthKit as usual, and these can be manually merged with the Sumyt workout.

You can find out more about the issue here. Myself and a number of other developers are trying to obtain a solution from Apple, we are all really hoping for a fix for this soon!
